The primary mission of the 5-11 Club Inc. is to provide canteen rehab service to the members of the Chicago Fire Department and Chicago area first responders. The 5-11 Club Inc. owns and operates five canteen vehicles. Canteen 401, located at Engine Co.106 at 3401 N. Elston Avenue , Canteen 402 located in MABAS Division 22, Canteen 403 located at Engine Co. 60 at 1150 East 55th St, Canteens 404 & 405 located at Engine Co. 80, 12701 Doty Ave . The canteens which are known as Support Service Units are stocked with food, beverages, water, ice, Gatorade, hot chocolate and coffee, etc. When an extra alarm fire is sounded, the volunteer members of the 5-11 Club Inc., report to the Support Service Unit nearest to the scene of the incident, load food and beverages onto the Support Service Unit and respond to the scene of the fire etc. Once they arrive on the scene of the fire, incident, disaster, etc., crew members use the Support Service Unit(s) as a platform to distribute food and beverages to all emergency responders. The secondary mission of the 5-11 Club is to provide canteen service at special events related to the activities of the Chicago Fire Department and the Chicago Police Department, such as large-scale training drills, classes, HBT incidents, crime scene investigations, funerals for Firefighters and Police Officers who have died in the line-of-duty, and the annual memorial service for Chicago Firefighters who have died in the line-of-duty. All food and beverages distributed to members of the Chicago Fire and Police Departments, Municipal City employees, (as well as any civilian(s) who are displaced by the fire, disaster, or incident, etc., requesting food and beverages are handed out free of charge.
